Putney is historically one of the nicest areas south of the Thames in London. Property prices for such an exclusive, in demand area are currently increasing at an incredible rate. The SW area of London has outperformed all others this year.

Of course in such a sought after area rents are also very profitable with yields (on net figures) coming out at 5.6%. Micro and macroeconomics: The largest source of work in this area is Real Estate (29% of workers) and the area has one of the highest proportions of degree educated people in the country, at 46.2%.

Market report - Prime Central London, not as prime as it was in 2006

Savills have their PCL report for the first quarter of 2007, and it reveals growth down from 8.8% to 5.7%. Interestingly, it was outperformed by south west London - the Barnes, Fulham, Putney, Richmond and Wandsworth areas putting in a creditable 8.1% quarterly growth, leaving the annual growth figure at a rather astonishing 31%, June-to-June.
